Simple to configure, lightweight and easy to deploy, NexSens emergency response data buoy systems meet all of the important characteristics for effective emergency response. The NexSens CB-50 data buoy is a well-suited option for such situations, with its compact size and real-time data telemetry capabilities.
The center port of the CB-50 data buoy is designed to securely hold the X2-SDL Submersible Data Logger, a self-powered and fully waterproof unit that withstands extreme conditions and submersion to 60m. Radio, cellular, or satellite communications options allow for transmission of data in near real-time to the WQData LIVE web datacenter. This secure online portal presents live data, sends email or SMS alarms, and much more.
The X2-SDL works with nearly all industry-standard water quality sensors and sondes including YSI, Hydrolab, Eureka, and In-situ. The stainless steel frame attached to the buoy presents an ideal location to securely mount instruments. Waterproof cable connectors and automatic sensor detection make start-up simpler than ever. System power from a set of D-cell alkaline batteries installed in the logger allows for extended deployments and simple battery exchanges.
With robust constructions and a weight of only around 23 kg fully configured, the CB-50 can safely and easily be deployed from a small boat or helicopter. The topside cover protects the logger and supports an M550 solar marine light for visibility to boat traffic in adverse conditions.
